Overview

StyleSense is a personal wardrobe assistant that uses AI to recommend outfits. Users upload clothing photos, tag them by category, and the app automatically suggests combinations based on today's weather (fetched via API), the user's selected occasion, and their personal style preferences stored in Firebase.

Key Contributions

  • Architected the full BLoC layer — WardrobeBloc, WeatherBloc, and RecommendationBloc operating independently with clean event/state contracts.
  • Integrated real-time weather API and combined data with wardrobe items to drive AI recommendation logic.
  • Built Firebase Storage pipeline for clothing photo uploads with on-device compression before upload.
  • Designed a smooth onboarding flow and wardrobe tagging UI using custom Flutter widgets.

Results & Learnings

This app demonstrated how multiple BLoC streams can be combined using RxDart without creating coupling — each bloc stayed independently testable while the UI reacted to merged state seamlessly.
